Sarnia businesses facing increased costs or supply chain issues due to trade disruptions may be eligible for federal support through the Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI). Launched by FedDev Ontario, the program provides funding to help manufacturers and industrial businesses across southern Ontario, particularly in sectors like automotive, steel, and advanced manufacturing, respond to global tariff volatility.
With nearly $160 million allocated to southern Ontario from the broader national initiative, this funding is designed to help eligible businesses:
Businesses can normally request $125,000 to $10 million in repayable funding, or $125,000 to $1 million in non-repayable funding.
Local businesses are strongly encouraged to explore this opportunity, especially those affected by recent tariff shifts or who are looking to grow their competitiveness in international or domestic markets. To be eligible, applicants must have at least 5 FTEs.
Invest Sarnia can help. If you are unsure whether you qualify or need support with the application process, our team is available to assist and connect you with the right resources.
