Starting August 10, 2022, small and medium-sized companies are invited to apply to the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness(AMIC) Stream 2 for loans, grants, and complementary support services.
The program will support investments in capital equipment, technology adoption, and skills development.
AMIC is open to companies and organizations operating in advanced manufacturing sectors, including:
· Aerospace
· Automotive
· Chemical
· Information and communications technology
· Life sciences
· Steel
Applicant businesses must employ at least 10 people and commit to creating at least five new jobs or upskilled current jobs. Additional criteria apply.
The program offers interest-free loans of up to $5 million and 15% of eligible project costs. Grants will be available only for specific circumstances and are limited to $500,000 for small, rural businesses and up to $1.5 million for larger projects.
