A new initiative in Sarnia is preparing Sarnia-Lambton's next generation of skilled workers for real-world careers.

In September, Alexander Mackenzie Secondary School debuted a new Technological Education Hub for students in Grades 10 to 12. This state-of-the-art facility provides immersive, career-focused training across multiple high‑demand sectors.

The facility offers immersive, career-focused learning environments in six key areas:

  • Construction — Large‑scale project workspace and lab‑style “sandbox” for hands‑on learning.
  • Culinary Arts — A fully equipped commercial kitchen.
  • Hairstyling and Aesthetics — Professional salon setup for applied training.
  • Health and Wellness (PSW) — Clinical and academic learning environments.
  • Horticulture and Landscaping — Greenhouses, garden beds, and an indoor training area.
  • Transportation — Vehicle lifts and small engine repair facilities.

With programs like double‑credit course bundles, SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major), and cooperative education placements, students can build career-ready skills while earning Ontario Secondary School Diploma requirements.
