The City of Sarnia is inviting the public to review plans for the redevelopment of Ferry Dock Hill as the first phase of implementing Sarnia’s Waterfront Master Plan.

A public meeting and consultation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at City Hall, located at 255 Christina St. N.. Doors will open at 6:00 pm before a formal presentation at 6:30 pm followed by a discussion. Attendees will have the opportunity to review two initial concepts completed by BrookMcIlroy landscape architects, who will be on hand to receive any questions and comments from the public.

The Ferry Dock Hill redevelopment project represents the first major capital project under Sarnia’s Downtown Waterfront Master Plan, a 15-year vision and strategy for the redevelopment of Sarnia’s waterfront area, including its connectivity to the downtown. The Waterfront Master Plan was adopted by Sarnia City Council in January 2022.

Following the public meeting, on September 21, a project page will be launched at www.speakupsarnia.ca, providing further opportunity for residents to learn more, weigh in on their preferred design features, and provide further comment.

Engagement will be open for two weeks, after which input will be incorporated into a final design to be included for Council review and possible funding in the 2024 budget.
