Sarnia businesses can network and find support through multiple organizations in the Sarnia-Lambton area. Some of these are listed below.

 

Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP)

The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership provides economic development services for Lambton County organizations. Their mission is to promote the distinctive advantages that Sarnia-Lambton has to offer to businesses and residents. This private/public sector, the community-based partnership works to increase economic activity in the County of Lambton. The core services of SLEP include; strategic economic planning for the community, marketing and promotion, entrepreneurship and small business support, and new resident attraction.

Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce

The nationally accredited Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce represents the interests of over 700 business members of all sizes throughout Sarnia-Lambton. The Chamber has programs, events, advocacy initiatives, marketing opportunities, and publications to meet a wide variety of member needs. The local "voice of business" organization. The chamber works hard to foster a business environment in which local business grows and new companies find attractive. Small business discounts and incentives assist the profitability of members.

Sarnia Lambton Business Development Corporation (SLBDC)

Sarnia Lambton Business Development Corporation is a non-profit community-based corporation with the mandate of strategic community planning and development and helping small and medium-sized businesses, new or existing, in Lambton County to grow. SLBDC provides comprehensive products and services including free in-depth business counseling, repayable financing to a maximum of $250,000, business library, computer lab, and internet access. SLBDC also delivers the Ontario Self Employment Benefit (OSB) Program for the Government of Ontario.

Business Enterprise Center of Sarnia-Lambton

The Business Enterprise Centre provides free, confidential business counseling and advisory services to aspiring entrepreneurs, those in the start-up stage, and existing Small Businesses in the Sarnia-Lambton area. A" one-stop-shop" that provides all the tools to get your business started properly: help with rules and regulations, information on government assistance programs, experienced Business Counsellor to help you put it together.

Blue Coast Primary Care

Blue Coast Primary Care is dedicated to marketing Sarnia-Lambton to Family Physicians and their families to encourage them to locate in our community thereby enhancing the health, social, and economic quality of life for all our residents..

Sarnia-Lambton Industrial Alliance (SLIA)

The Sarnia Lambton Industrial Alliance is a coalition of over 30 Sarnia-Lambton companies that specialize in all aspects of metal fabrication, engineering, environmental, and support services geared to manufacturing industries.

Sarnia Tech Community

The Sarnia Tech Community's mission is to transform Sarnia into a hub of technology and innovation. Sarnia Tech Community is creating a community of professionals that attracts tech businesses, encourages entrepreneurship, and generates revenue streams into the City of Sarnia.

Sarnia-Lambton Workforce Development Board (SLWDB)

The Sarnia Lambton Workforce Development Board is one of 22 community-based, non-profit corporations established in Ontario to play a leadership role in labor force development. The Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario fund the Board. The Board employs four full-time staff and hires contract and consultants to work on the various projects they undertake. The Board is governed by 17 volunteers representing business, labor, women, youth, francophones, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, educators, and trainers.

The mission of the Mitton Village Community Development Advisory Committee is to inform and advise staff and City Council on opportunities and barriers in Mitton Village that contribute or detract from the area as a vibrant place to live, work, and play.

Invest Ontario focuses on three strategic sectors where the province has a global competitive advantage —advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and technology.

Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation & Trade

The Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation, and Trade (formally known as Ministry of Economic Development and Growth) in the Canadian province of Ontario is responsible for programs to attract and retain business and economic development in the province. This is pursued through research and development funding, business advisory services, career exploration opportunities, and business start-up programs for youth, skills development, and marketing Ontario to potential international business investors.

Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)

FedDev Ontario works to create opportunities for economic growth in southern Ontario by helping businesses become more competitive, innovative, and productive. FedDev Ontario Agency also works with southern Ontario communities to develop and diversify local economies.
